The Gated Bath Ring

The Gated Bath Ring is an adjustable bath ring for children of all sizes.

Baby's bath time is an enjoyable experience for the baby and the one bathing the child, but it can also be an anxiety producing time. Baby bath rings are great for keeping a child sitting still and safe while in the tub, but the problem with standard baby bath rings is that it may be difficult to hold on to a wet, slippery child while lifting or lowering him or her into or out of the ring from above. A new and improved bath ring, the Gated Bath Ring, solves this problem, ensuring that the child's safety is not compromised. The Gated Bath Ring has a gated entrance so that one can slide the child into or out of the ring from the side as opposed to from the top. It also has adjustable components that allow the ring to accommodate both young and small and older or larger children. Because the Gated Bath Ring is gated and adjustable, it is well suited for children who suffer various developmental disabilities that compromise their ability to sit upright unassisted in the bath tub. Larger sizes of the Gated Bath Ring are suitable for adults with disabilities or in nursing homes.

Similar to traditional bath rings in design and function, the Gated Bath Ring is manufactured primarily of heavy duty, water-resistant plastic material with foam or rubber coated metal components and heavy duty suction cups on the bottom for stability. In addition to the gated entrance, what makes the Gated Bath Ring unique is its adjustable components. The height of the ring can be adjusted according to the size of the child. One can raise or lower the ring as needed simply by expanding or contracting the legs and securely locking them into place. A gated entrance enables one to easily slide a child into or out of the ring from the side of the unit, as opposed to lifting or lower the child into the ring from above. Televised test marketing has been completed indicating an exceptional consumer response to the Gated Bath Ring.

The Patent Pending Gated Bath Ring was invented by a school psychologist with a Doctor of Education degree, Joan Murphy, of Lyndhurst, NJ. She said,The idea for the Gated Bath Ring came to me when bathing my grandson. Even though an average sized baby, it was very difficult for me to get him in and out of the top of the ring.”
