The Elegant Turkish Gulet Berrak Su Is Going Up For Sale

Owner Recep Cetin has decided that it's time to sell the elegant Turkish handcrafted gulet, Berrak Su and move onto to bigger investments.

As each year passes by, gulet tourism is reaching great heights for the gulet charter businesses in Turkey. The industry is developing while the investors are gaining interest in what is a unique step into the world of yacht charters. Gulets originate in Turkey. The first ones built were many decades ago in the city of Bodrum - now the capital of gulet manufacturing. Since then, the construction of gulets have developed with better technology and architecture - further expanding to shipyards in the town of Bozburun, Marmaris and the major city of tourism in Southern Turkey; Antalya.

One can find gulets built all the way back in 1986 and 87'. "A well maintained gulet can last up to 100 years. They are built from wood, and if you take good care of it, it can last a long time", states Mr. Cetin. "But technology is changing all the time in many industries and if you want to keep up with this, then sometimes you need to sell your assets and reinvest", explains Mr. Cetin.

"I have had the gulet Berrak Su for quite some time now. She was named after my little daughter, Berrak. So she holds a special place in my heart. I also own another gulet. But now I think that it's time to sell and buy a gulet that is newer and bigger", claims Mr. Cetin.

When we asked if he would consider building one from scratch, he replied, "Sure I would like to build a gulet for my gulet charter business, but it takes up to 2 years to complete the construction of a well made gulet. So for the time being I think I will just consider selling Berrak Su and look into purchasing another gulet that is of good standards to serve my guests on their gulet cruises".
