The Cybersmile Foundation to Make All Educational Workshops Free for Everybody

The Cybersmile Foundation cyberbullying education

The Cybersmile Foundation has today announced that it has made its full curriculum of educational workshops accessible to schools, colleges, universities and community groups completely free of charge.

The comprehensive education program of 80+ workshops was developed by Cybersmile and a panel of experts in a variety of fields, including psychology, teaching, information technology and parenting.

The workshops are divided into various age groups (5-16+) and provide children, teachers, students, carers and parents with the opportunity to learn and teach important aspects of digital life ranging from cyberbullying and online safety through to enhancing empathy, bystander intervention and equality awareness.

A library of age-appropriate downloadable PDF lesson plans includes in-depth workshops and exercises that can be carried out in a group setting where students can learn about life online and the impact their actions can have on others - both good and bad. Lesson plan topics include: Internet Safety, Effects of Cyberbullying, Netiquette, Bystander Effect, Sexting, Enhancing Empathy, Positive Online Behavior, Equality Awareness, Ways of Getting Help and many more.

“Being in a position to make our education program freely accessible has been one of our priorities for a number of years. Thanks to the generous support of our donors and corporate partners, today we are able to make these programs available to everybody - regardless of budget,” said Dan Raisbeck, Co-Founder of The Cybersmile Foundation.

With over 80 individual workshops available, schools, colleges and parents can use Cybersmile’s curriculum to prepare young children for safe and rewarding connected lives, while educating teenagers and mature internet users on important aspects of life online.

The free workshops can be integrated into existing curriculums or taught separately. They can also be adapted for quick-learning opportunities and short courses with a Digital Civility focus. The workshops can be accessed and downloaded by exploring the resources section of the Cybersmile website.

The program can also be used alongside Cybersmile's recently launched interactive learning platform, which provides free access to interactive learning modules and includes topics such as Digital Civility, Content Authenticity, Understanding Emoji, Online Safety, Online Security and Technology and Wellbeing.

The opportunity to offer completely free-for-all education has been made possible thanks to the support of donors and corporate partners including Microsoft's Mixer, Intel, Google, Brita, Riot Games, Twitter, Rimmel London and Claire's Inc.

Institutions and companies that wish to help Cybersmile continue to provide education and support to those in need are encouraged to make a donation to the organization or to become an official corporate partner to fund long-term initiatives.

All use of the workshops is completely free for educational and non-commercial purposes. All content remains the property of The Cybersmile Foundation. For further information about Cybersmile, visit the official website.
