Online, October 21, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Every season, the world's most ecologically friendly beaches and marinas are given the Blue Flag award. The Blue Flag is a non-government non-profit program created to promote ecologically sustainable beaches and marinas. The award is based on a strict screening process with many elements that must be met.

The standards that must be met are numerous and strict, and not many beaches are able to attain the Blue Flag award.
