Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales Participates in Annual Come & Take It Celebration
GONZALES, TEXAS, November 7, 2016 (Newswire.com) - In the heart of Gonzales, Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales took part in the community’s annual Come & Take It celebration. The Come & Take It celebration is a festival celebrating the firing of the first shot of the Texas Revolution. Festival goers enjoyed a carnival, parade, cook-off and live music.
Texan Nursing & Rehab of Gonzales’ residents and staff took part in the festival by participating in the parade with their own float. Amanda Frederick, the Administrator of the facility said the float was organized by the staff at the facility.

“The residents helped make the decorations for the float and the signs,” Frederick said. “It was a nice outing for the residents to enjoy the nice weather and see friends in the community.”
Frederick said the entire event is put on by the Chamber of Commerce and the Come & Take It Committee, which is 100 percent comprised of volunteers.
“A big thank you to all of the volunteers that make this event happen,” Frederick said. “Volunteers in this community are the reason Texan Nursing & Rehab and others get to come and enjoy and participate.”
