No less than presidential sister was the keynote speaker during the opening day (March 28, Monday) of the First National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC) Week at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Office in Taguig City which coincided with the soft launch of theJobStreet.com-powered TESDAJob Listing Page.

The said event wasalso graced by TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva, as well as by Governor Alfonso Umali, national president of the League of Provinces; Hon. LaniCayetano, mayor of Taguig City; key officials from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and representatives from the employer and labor sectors.

From March 28 to April 1, JobStreet.com shall set up job browsing counters to access the TESDA Jobs Page for applicants to sign up and apply for in a click. This online job bridging program hopefully aims to increase the tech-voc graduates' chances of getting hired at the soonest possible time. This is also in line with the Aquino Administration's Labor and Employment Agenda that includes supporting efforts in expanding the employment opportunities and strengthening public and private partnerships in the labor market.

Aside from this, the country's number jobsite shall also conduct career consultation sessions on preparing winning resumes.

Meanwhile, the week-long string of activities will also be highlighted by TESDA Assessment and Certification activities and a Job Fair that is expected to draw in 5,000 TESDA students and graduates plus skilled workers, returning and repatriated OFW from Libya, Bahrain and others. DOLE and POEA have teamed up to host the job fair with 40 local and 20 overseas employers participating in the said sub-event.
