TerraServer Announces Massive New Imagery Update
Millions of New Aerial / Satellite Photos from 2011/2012 Now Available
Online, April 12, 2012 (Newswire.com) - TerraServer, the leader in online imagery, has just released a massive amount of new imagery covering virtually every spot on Earth. The brand new high resolution images date from 2011/2012 and some areas are less than a month old.

The new imagery is sourced from DigitalGlobe including the QuickBird, WorldView-1, and WorldView-2 satellites. TerraServer is utilizing DigitalGlobe Cloud Services which allows integration into the custom TerraServer MapServer API and web interface. DigitalGlobe Cloud Services supports Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards, such as WMS and WFS, in order to access hosted content from the DigitalGlobe ImageLibrary.
With this release of new data, TerraServer has added hundreds of millions of satellite views online. In most major metropolitan areas there are now over 10-20 different image dates to choose from. The new photos on TerraServer cover the globe, including practically every major city as well as most rural areas in the United States and internationally.
Not only has TerraServer updated and expanded the imagery archive, TerraServer has also made several technical improvements to the website, including upgraded search, larger free subscriber prints, faster viewing, and new imagery selection dropdown. All of the new imagery can be viewed online for free at the TerraServer.com website with prints/posters and file downloads also available for purchase.
