Temple Beth Tikvah Early Childhood Education Center Launches Madrigot Program for 2011-2012

Online, February 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Course for 5-Year-Olds Bridges Gap Between Pre-K and Kindergarten

ROSWELL * Temple Beth Tikvah's Early Childhood Education Center announces a new addition to its preschool programming for the 2011-2012 school year. Madrigot (meaning "steps") is designed to assist students who meet the age requirement for elementary school, but are not yet ready for the kindergarten experience.

TBT ECEC Director Jenifer Friedman will introduce the program at two open house sessions on Thursday, February 24, at 10am and 7pm in Temple Beth Tikvah's preschool wing. Interested parents should RSVP via email to preschool@bethtikvah.com. Children are welcome at both sessions.

"We've received many requests for this type of class, not only from preschool parents at TBT, but also from others throughout North Fulton and East Cobb County," said Friedman. "Our goal is to prepare children graduating from our preschool to not only be prepared for kindergarten but to meet with great success during that important year of primary education."

The Madrigot program will employ the Orton Gillingham Multisensory Education Program, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Mathematics as curricula to advance students between preK and Kindergarten. Judaics, literacy, social and emotional development, and physical strengthening are also core elements of the program.
