Telli Health Launches World's First Cellular-Enabled Sleep Monitor Mat
MIAMI, July 27, 2022 (Newswire.com) - Telli Health is pleased to announce the launch of the world's first cellular-enabled sleep monitor mat, which measures overall sleep, sleep time, heart rate, sleep cycles (deep, light, and REM), interruptions, and sleep latency and waking. This exciting new technology will be unveiled today at the 2022 Florida International Medical Expo (FIME) in Miami Beach. FIME participants can visit Telli Health at Booth T70 at the Miami Beach Convention Center from July 27-29 to see the product.
Physicians now have a better way to monitor their patients' sleep. Telli Health's sleep monitor mat is projected to dramatically increase patient adherence across multiple specialties since readings will be taken every time the patient lies down to go to sleep and will be stored in the device. The non-intrusive mat will automatically transmit patient data directly into the existing electronic health record, available to their provider immediately - a departure from traditionally cumbersome medical devices that require patients to manually track and record all readings. Paired with remote blood pressure monitoring, for example, the use of the sleep monitor mat will give cardiologists additional data to more effectively monitor their hypertensive patients and reduce trips to the hospital ER.
Telli Health Sales Executive William Dos Santos commented, "I am thrilled that we are introducing this groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind medical device to the marketplace. Quality of sleep is clearly linked to a litany of health issues, and Telli Health's sleep mat responds to this gap in the marketplace by providing patients and providers with an easy, accurate, and consistent way to monitor their patient's sleep and get better health data. Telli Health's most popular device is our remote blood pressure monitor, which paired with our sleep monitor mat has the potential to achieve 100% adherence for many RPM programs while enabling providers to get ahead of negative health outcomes."
Studies have consistently linked sleep irregularity with worse cardio-metabolic health. According to a May 2022 study published in the journal Sleep, 12,300 participants between the ages of 18 and 90 used an under-mattress sleep device and a portable blood pressure monitor over multiple months to investigate associations between sleep regularity and hypertension. Findings show that high sleep duration irregularity was associated with a 9% to 15% increase in hypertension risk. The Telli Health sleep monitor mat will serve as an effortless way to get ahead of such chronic conditions, monitor and accurately measure sleep, improve health outcomes, and revolutionize in-home care and the remote patient monitoring industry.
Furthermore, a 38-minute increase in sleep midpoint irregularity was associated with an 11% risk increase, and a 31-minute increase in sleep onset time irregularity was associated with a 29% increased risk of hypertension. These findings provide insight into the potentially important impact of sleep irregularity on cardiovascular health.
