Tech Entrepreneur Jim Jogerst From New Jersey Launches New Venture

A local entrepreneur in New Jersey, Jim Jogerst recently sold his first business. His startup focused on technology and services, and he was able to sell it for a multi-million dollar figure, although the exact figure has not been disclosed. And now, not one to ever sit still, Jim Jogerst has already started his next business. This one will aim to help businesses build better, stronger connections with their customers using various online mediums.

Jim Jogerst started his career as a sales agent at a local chemist. He developed his first company, South 10, after completing a degree in entrepreneurship. This is the company he has recently sold, which had some 130 employees. His new company, Useright, focuses specifically on performing online research, targeted at helping apps and websites improve by completing real user tests. The concept is clever, as the research performed by Useright provides companies with highly valuable insights into how online services and products are truly being used. These insights can then be used to improve website design, so that the overall user experience will be enhanced.

According to Jim Jogerst: "Throughout my career, I have noticed that there is a significant lack in terms of truly understanding what customers want not from the product or service, but from their shopping experience. This is what I want to address with Useright. I have brought together a team of people who have fantastic experience and knowledge specific to this field, and preliminary results are incredibly positive."

The team of people Jim Jogerst is referring is made up of a marketing expert, a sociologist, and an expert in human-computer interaction. In fact, the latter has recently completed a Ph.D. in that field, being the youngest person to have ever achieved that. He will be responsible for the whole research department. Jim Jogerst, meanwhile, will head the company, and will focus on developing consultancy services for their new clients.

He adds: "Essentially, my marketing colleague will bring in the clients, and I will consult with them in terms of determining what they have, where they are, and where they want to be. This will then go to the research department, where the team will get to work on testing the available technology on actual users, not unlike in a focus group, but on a much larger scale."

He continues: "We will then make a number of changes to the online shopping experience and then test user experiences again, thereby determining what works and what doesn't, eventually ending up with the best possible solution. I will then return to our clients to help them implement the changes that have been determined to be vital."

Useright will be based in New Jersey. This is unusual, since it is not a location of choice for tech companies. However, Jim Jogerst feels that it is up and coming, and that is perfectly located to perform significant market research across a cross-section of national demographics. Currently, he is building on his staff, as opportunity for growth is already becoming evident. In fact, while only recently launched, Useright is in the process of working with five different companies, and they are now at full capacity.

Jim Jogerst adds: "With just five clients, we are already running at a profit. But we are also doing all that we can do, and we literally have no spare set of hands left to do any additional work. Hence, it is already time to attract new members of staff, because the next clients are lining up. As an entrepreneur, I am also hugely excited about this new system. This may just be a business that I will end up sticking with for some time."

Research has shown that, while e-commerce is now all around the world, many apps and websites continue to under-perform. It is a known fact that around 80% of people will go to a different website or app if they don't feel they can do what they want or find what they want, in a short period of time. According to Jim Jogerst: "The companies that are doing well are the companies that have a solid online customer base. They have user friendly, engaging, digital experiences that their customers love. That is the key to being successful in today's world. Truly, businesses must embrace online user experience as a core strategy for their company, because their competition may actually be already doing it."


In fact, psychologists have shown that time and patience are very limited in the average customer, simply because they know they don't have to have the time and patience to go elsewhere, so long as they can find it. Hence, it is vital that their online experience is straightforward and not complicated in any way.
