TCI Hand Selects Top Performers for Bahamas Trip

Nick G., TCI's president, has chosen the firm's top performers to attend an all-expenses paid vacation to the Bahamas. He discussed the trip, along with the benefits of such excursions.

“Several colleagues and I are eager to attend the team vacation,” Nick said. “Who wouldn’t be thrilled to get away to such a pristine location for a while? It’s also worth mentioning that the benefits of the trip extend beyond fun in the sun.”

Nick explained that the excursion will allow the TCI associates to network with a number of influential people in the sales and marketing industry. They will nurture existing relationships and cultivate new ones, sharing best practices at play in different regions throughout the country. Learning will cover topics such as the latest management techniques, market trends, strategic planning, and more.

"Attendees who have achieved noteworthy milestones throughout the year will also be recognized,"

“Attendees who have achieved noteworthy milestones throughout the year will also be recognized,” Nick stated. “It’s going to be a great time. We’ll return to the TCI office feeling refreshed, more creative, and focused as a result.”

TCIs President Reviews Big Benefits of Taking Vacations

“Whether vacations are career-related, such as our event in the Bahamas, or enjoyed with friends and family, I strongly encourage everyone on the TCI team to get away once in a while,” Nick continued. “Time off is important for avoiding burnout and maintaining a healthy work/life balance.”

According to Nick, rest and relaxation go hand-in-hand with stress reduction. Daily activities such as meditation and exercise are important to well-being, but extended time away from work is an essential component of good self-care, too. There are a number of health benefits associated with taking vacations, including lowered risk of heart disease. Research indicates that reaction times and levels of motivation even improved as a result of taking long breaks.

“Unfortunately, American workers don’t usually get or take enough time away from their work,” Nick indicated. One survey from Expedia found that the average worker in our country earns 18 vacation days, but uses only 14 of them. This isn’t the case in many other countries. In France, for instance, people use about 35 of their 37 vacation days.”

“When you take long breaks, you’re better able to withstand stress in the future,” Nick concluded. “Experts say certain neural connections in the brain become weaker if they aren’t given opportunities to rejuvenate. As such, handling stress is a huge struggle. Only during restful vacations is it possible to fully relax and allow active restoration.”
