Tamarack Active Winglets Given 100% Value by Vref

Tamarack Aerospace Active Winglets return 100% of their purchase price for the Cessna series CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 aircraft, says Vref the online value reference resource.

The aircraft valuation guide Vref has valued Tamarack Aerospace Active Winglets at 100% of their purchase price for the Cessna series CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 aircraft.

Tamaracks Active Winglets are unique as they do not require structural reinforcement and include a wing extension making them three to four times more efficient than other winglet types. Tamarack has demonstrated a reduction in fuel burn of over 25% during hundreds of hours of flight-testing with a Cessna Citation CJ fitted with Active Winglets.

COO Brian Cox stated ‘We are extremely happy with the Vref valuation of our winglet modification, this is great news for owner operators who can genuinely view Active Winglets an investment for which they will see immediate returns on every flight, with the significant reduction in fuel burn. Longer term, with the increased range provided by the winglets, a reduction in airframe and engine cycles will reduce maintenance costs too, and should they decide to sell the aircraft still receive 100% of their investment back.’

Tamarack Aerospace has STC’s approved by EASA for CJ, CJ1, CJ1+ and M2 aircraft. FAA approval is expected towards the end of 2016.

Tamarack Aerospace Group

Tamarack Aerospace has certified the next generation of winglets, which are three to four times more efficient than previous types. The patented design, ‘Active Technology Load Alleviation System’ or ATLAS™, is made up of a wing tip extension, a highly tuned winglet, and a load alleviation system that counteracts the additional loads induced by the winglet in rare peak-loading events such as a gust or maneuver. This means that heavy wing reinforcement is not required, thus increasing efficiency and significantly reducing retrofit times. ATLAS Active Winglets are scalable and can be installed on any aircraft type.

In 2013, Tamarack flew 6:16, 1853nm (with only a 26 kt tailwind) in a Cessna CJ using ATLAS Active Winglets – an (unofficial) world record for distance flown in this category of aircraft.
