Tamarac Commissioner Reappointed to Florida League of Cities Municipal Administration Committee

TAMARAC, Fla., September 1, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Tamarac City Commissioner Julie Fishman has been reappointed to the Florida League of Cities (FLOC) Municipal Administration Committee.

This committee addresses municipal concerns on a wide range of topics such as code enforcement, elections, emergency management, gaming, homeland security, public meetings, public property management, public records, public safety and procurement. It also addresses charter counties and special districts.

"I am honored to serve on the committee again to continue to work on issues important to our communities," said Commissioner Fishman.

Commissioner Fishman has served as Tamarac’s District 3 Commissioner since November 2016. For three consecutive years, the FLOC has recognized her as a Home Rule Hero for protecting the home rule powers of Florida’s cities.

In addition to her involvement with the FLOC, Commissioner Fishman is a board member of the  National League of Cities Women in Municipal Government and a member of both its Racial Equity and Leadership Council and its Energy, Environment and Natural Resource Committee. Her local involvements include serving as Vice-Chair of the Broward County Human Rights Board and as a member of the Broward Veterans Coalition and Broward Human Trafficking Coalition.
