TABLE FOR TWO Celebrates World Food Day 2024 #OnigiriAction - 10 Year Anniversary
NEW YORK, October 3, 2024 (Newswire.com) - TABLE FOR TWO USA (TFT) invites everyone to participate in its 10th Annual ONIGIRI ACTION campaign to provide one million school meals to children from Thursday, October 3 to Saturday, November 16, 2024. During the campaign, through the generosity of our partner organizations, every rice ball-related post on the campaign website or social media with #OnigiriAction will provide five school meals to children in need in the United States and East Africa.
Our ONIGIRI ACTION campaign commemorates the United Nations’ World Food Day. As a non-profit organization with roots in Japan, the campaign highlights onigiri (rice balls), which are a traditional Japanese comfort food made with love to share with others. Since its launch in 2015, Onigiri Action has supported over 10 million school meals.
2024 USA Campaign Theme: 10th Anniversary
TFT and our partners will host many virtual and in-person events to celebrate 10 years. Our first initiative is “The Onigiri Cup” where people can vote for their favorite onigiri fillings among 10 on social media or vote in-person by writing their choice at an event. Rice balls with the winning ingredient will be donated to students we support in the U.S. TFT will additionally hold a virtual Onigiri Action celebration event in 10 cities. We also will continue the U.S. & Japan College Relay Baton Touch /バトンタッチ!, a fun and collaborative initiative on Instagram for American and Japanese university students.

Visit our booth at this popular fall festival at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego! You can make onigiri and take fun photos. - Ouchigohan with Kimono Mom (Oct 20)
We will have a special Ouchigohan event with Kimono Mom, a former geisha who is now a YouTube star. Cook along with us to make some delicious onigiri!
