SysTest Labs Tests Republic of Philippines 2010 Automated Election System

Denver (Dec. 14, 2009) - SysTest Labs, a Denver based software-testing company, has been selected by the Commission of Elections (COMELEC) for the Republic of the Philippines to test the new automated election system supplied by Smartmatic-TIM Corp

On Thursday, Dec.17, 2009, Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal and director Ester Roxas from the COMELEC, along with director Denis Villorente of the Philippine Advanced Science and Technology Institute will visit SysTest Labs in Denver to witness the initial testing stages. SysTest Labs will provide all code review, functional, performance and hardware testing required by the COMELEC to certify this new system that comprises more than 80,000 optical scan units and other supporting systems deployed nationwide.

"We are working with Smartmatic to perform source code review, as well as testing all functionality and security aspects of the code to ensure that it is absolutely accurate and tamper-proof," said Mark Phillips, SysTest Labs vice president of compliance services. "We will also provide on-ground support in the Philippines early next year in time for the elections scheduled in May."

The project, expected to be complete by March, tests the system's security, telecommunications, error notification, auditing and recovery, volume, stress and accuracy of performance under the contract with COMELEC.
