Sylvin Develops UL Approved, Prop 65 Compliant Electrical Molding Compounds

Sylvin Technologies has created flexible vinyl compounds for electrical molding applications.

Sylvin Technologies Inc., a custom vinyl compound manufacturer has introduced the 7844 series of UL approved, California Prop 65 compliant flexible vinyl compounds designed for use in electrical molding applications. With the addition of DINP, a commonly used plasticizer, to California Prop 65’s list of potentially hazardous chemicals, Sylvin recognized the need for a high-performance product that satisfies stringent regulatory requirements.

Sylvin’s new 7844 series compounds range in hardness from 60 Shore A to 95 Shore C and all are approved to UL 94 with an HB flame rating.  The series was developed for injection molding and is suitable for various electrical applications such as power supply cords and strain reliefs.  The 7844 series compounds can be custom colored to meet exact customer preferences, and are available in amounts ranging from 50 pounds to truckload quantities.

Sylvin Technologies is a leading manufacturer of flexible vinyl compounds available in a broad spectrum of colors and material enhancements for various markets and applications.  With an on-site laboratory and experienced product development team, Sylvin takes pride in formulating materials to exact customer specifications.  Sylvin is a partner that delivers technical and regulatory expertise and superior customer service in addition to a quality product.
