Sweet Ideas Marketing Supports Local and National Community
Atlanta, GA, February 26, 2016 (Newswire.com) - “I work with some great people here at Sweet Ideas Marketing. Not only are they talented professionals, but they’re caring human beings as well. I really couldn’t ask for better co-workers,” declared Rebecca, the firm’s Director of Operations. “The way they pull together to support both each other and their community is inspiring.”
Philanthropy is a part of the culture at Sweet Ideas Marketing, and the team recently took part in two major charitable events. The first involved the St Jude Math-A-Thon, an education-based fundraiser. Children raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital by seeking pledges to support them as they solve math problems. The St. Jude Math-A-Thon has raised over $450 million since it began in 1979, and assists roughly 300,000 children and their families each year.

“One of our colleagues’ children was taking part in this event, so the whole team rallied behind it,” Rebecca explained. “As a group we raised over $500 to support St. Jude’s and the incredibly important work they do.”
Also, to help those who are struggling with the poisoned water crisis in Flint, Michigan, Sweet Ideas Marketing leaders put teams together to gather potable water and donate it at local drop-off locations, like 1715 Howell Mill Road and I-75. “Atlanta has really come together for this cause, and we’re happy to help out our local community and support those who need help in Flint,” Rebecca stated.
Director of Sweet Ideas Marketing Discusses Why Businesses Should Take Part in Philanthropy
“When it comes to expanding a business, there are several approaches that leadership should take,” stated Rebecca. “Obviously, goals should be set to increase tangibles like sales, revenue, customer acquisition, and customer retention. To really become a leader in the community though, it’s vital to make sure your organization is giving back to the area in which it operates. It gets the word out that, as a business leader, you care about more than just profits.”
Millennials – the now-dominant generation in the workforce – are more likely to join a company where they feel like they’ll make a difference, making philanthropy a way to attract top new talent as well. However, Rebecca is quick to point out that giving back should be done primarily because it’s the right thing to do. “We’ve set future goals for Sweet Ideas Marketing that incorporate our philanthropic nature,” she concluded. “It’s the way we choose to do business.”
