SunStar Mortgage Executive Brian Weide Honored by CAMP With Two Awards
Ontario, California, September 15, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Brian Weide, Branch Manager of SunStar Mortgage Services, a division of Golden Empire Mortgage, Inc., (GEM) was distinguished by the California Association of Mortgage Professionals (CAMP) with two awards at their Annual Awards Gala at Summer CAMP 2017 at the San Diego Convention Center in early August. In its 27 years of existence, Weide became the first to have received both the CAMP Professional Award and its Lifetime Achievement Award simultaneously in the same year.
Weide, a seasoned mortgage financing professional of over 38 years, has been with SunStar Mortgage Services for over two decades. He entered the field of mortgage lending in 1978, working for a hand full of mortgage companies until 1988, when he joined SunStar Mortgage, eventually purchasing the business in 1990.

Weide was an independent mortgage broker until 2004, at which time SunStar became an affiliate of Bristol Home Loans, a major mortgage brokerage in Southern California. In October 2008, SunStar became the DBA for Golden Empire Mortgage’s Ontario office, with Weide becoming the manager of the branch.
Weide joined CAMP in 1991, helping to form its Inland Empire Chapter. He has been on the Inland Empire Chapter’s Board of Directors consistently since 1991, and has served as its President three different times. Brian has been on the state board of CAMP several times. He has also been on the state executive committee, having served as Treasurer, Secretary and, most recently, Vice-President overseeing Ethics.
One of Weide’s major accomplishments in serving CAMP’s Board of Directors was contributing to its by-laws. Last year, while heading the Ethics committee, he evoked positive change by rallying to amend its by-laws that address ethics between other mortgage professionals in the business and not just clientele. The amendment became part of CAMP’s established Code of Ethics.

Weide is also a Past Chairman of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Brian and his wife Roberta, married since 1975, have two grown children and live in Upland, California.
