Sun Bingo Wins Online Bingo Site of the Year Award At WhichBingo UK

Online, January 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Which Bingo has crowned Sun Bingo as the Online Bingo Site of the Year 2010.

Sun Bingo beat off competition from high-street giant Mecca Bingo, who finished as runners up for the second time in as many years, and relative newcomer Moon Bingo who came third. The Sun's online bingo offering first launched back in 2006, but 2010 proved to be their most successful year to date, with promotions such as the 30 car giveaway during the summer being an instant hit with bingo players.

The New Bingo Site of the Year was awarded to Bingo Hollywood. The New Site award is open to those bingo sites which entered the market during 2010.

The awards, now in their 8th year, are decided by the bingo playing public - making it one of the most prestigious accolades in the online bingo industry.

The WhichBingo UK awards were originally launched back in 2002 to celebrate and reward excellence in online bingo, by allowing players to vote for their favourite sites. The awards are designed to reflect the quality, excitement and entertainment value of online bingo sites.

Unlike other similar awards, the WhichBingo UK Awards are open to all of the UK's online bingo websites and are decided entirely by players.

Over 60 new bingo sites were launched during 2010 and the trend looks set to continue into 2011. There are currently 338 online bingo sites in the UK and globally in 2010 online bingo was said to be worth £1.76bn (US$2.67bn), with forecasts suggesting 2011 will topple the £2bn mark.
