Sugar 2.0 wins big with Best in Show at KeHE

​​​​​​​​​​​​​Foods 2.0, LLC. follows up their recent CPG Editor’s Choice Finalist Award with a big win for 2017 for Best in Show - Most Innovative Product at the KeHE Summer Selling Show in New Orleans, LA.

Their product, Sugar 2.0 aims to tackle the global issue of diabetes, obesity and excessive sugar consumption by turning to nature for a solution. Sugar 2.0 pairs real cane sugar with soluble fiber, to replicate the way nature intended us to have sugar. Sugar 2.0 contains 50% sugar and 50% fiber, thereby also cutting regular sugar content in half.

In nature, foods like fruits, vegetables, beans, grains and nuts contain sugar but are also rich in fiber.  When these foods are eaten, sugar is released into the bloodstream slowly, thanks to fiber. However, with added sugar found in nearly all food and beverage products, the average American now consumes more added sugar than ever. And without the presence of fiber, sugar is released more rapidly into the bloodstream.

Our body can only safely metabolize a small amount of sugar.  But since we are now consuming over three times the amount of sugar as before, the majority of excess sugar becomes metabolized into body fat – leading to diabetes, obesity and other non-communicable diseases that plague millions of people today.

The Trade Show News Network (TSNN) named KeHE's Summer Selling & Product Innovation Show one of the fastest-growing trade shows for attendance growth. The show is the sixth largest in the food industry and continues to grow.
