Subaru of Pembroke Pines and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Continue to Spread Hope and Warmth to Pediatric and Adult Cancer Patients Throughout Broward County Area Hospitals

Subaru of Pembroke Pines Loves to Care

Subaru of Pembroke Pines (SPP), owned and operated by Craig Zinn and the Craig Zinn Automotive Group (CZAG), and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southern Florida (LLS) are dedicated to positively impacting the South Florida community. For the fourth consecutive year, Subaru of Pembroke Pines, Florida’s #1 Volume Subaru Store, according to Subaru of America’s Sales Data 2018, and LLS delivered blankets, messages of hope and arts and crafts kits to cancer patients and their families throughout Broward County area hospitals.

“One of our top priorities at Subaru of Pembroke Pines is making a difference and being an integral part of South Florida communities. We are passionate about supporting hometown organizations such as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southern Florida, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and the Memorial Cancer Institute,” said Craig Zinn, founder and CEO at the Craig Zinn Automotive Group. “We look forward to continuing to make a difference in the communities where we will live and work for years to come.”

Spread the Love Promise

Over the past four years, through Subaru Loves to Care, the health-focused initiative of the Subaru Love Promise philanthropic platform, LLS and Subaru have reached more than 100,000 patients in nearly 700 hospitals, with the help of 500 Subaru retailers nationwide.

Throughout June, Subaru of Pembroke Pines and LLS brought the Subaru Loves to Care initiative to life. Visitors at Subaru of Pembroke Pines had the opportunity to write personalized messages of support to cancer patients by visiting the Dealership or online at lls.org/subaru.

At the end of Subaru Loves to Care month, Subaru and LLS delivered blankets to adult patients fighting cancer at Memorial Hospital West’s Memorial Cancer Institute and arts and crafts kits to children fighting cancer at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, along with messages of hope written by Subaru customers. In addition, LLS collected inspiring stories and photographs of recipients to serve as a reminder of the good the Subaru Loves to Care initiative brings to thousands of patients nationwide.

“You are never quite warm enough when you are in the hospital for cancer treatment, but thanks to our amazing friends at Subaru of Pembroke Pines, we delivered blankets to adult cancer patients and arts and craft kits to pediatric cancer patients once again this summer, “ said DeAnn Hazey, Executive Director of the Southern Florida Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “We are so grateful to hand-deliver these gifts and bring some light to the darkness of cancer because of our partnership with Subaru of Pembroke Pines.”

“At Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, we believe in the healing power of play, and this generous donation will bring joy to children and families coping with significant stress during treatment. We’re so grateful to Subaru of Pembroke Pines for a contribution that will make a big difference in so many lives,” said Caitlin Stella, MPH, CEO of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

“We strive to provide the highest quality patient and family-centered care. That wouldn’t be possible without thoughtful contributions from community partners like Subaru of Pembroke Pines and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. On behalf of everyone at Memorial Cancer Institute, thank you for your kindness and generosity,” said Aurelio M. Fernandez, III, FACHE, President and CEO of Memorial Healthcare System.
