Spend Thanksgiving 2015 in a Luxury Yurt at Barnutopia in the Welsh Borderlands

Barnutopia Luxury Yurts is to host its first traditional American Thanksgiving celebration with a turkey dinner and all the trimmings in November 2015. Set in the glorious rural Shropshire and Powys hills, Barnutopia's fully furnished yurts with real beds, warm duvets, power, lighting, heating and free WiFi combine the comforts of home with the spirit and adventure of camping.

Barnutopia's Thanksgiving yurt glamping package includes a campfire with mulled wine, hot chocolate and s'mores on Wednesday evening, Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings served in the main farmhouse on Thursday and breakfast daily for two, three or four-night stays for up to 6 guests. Families with children are welcome and Barnutopia is dog-friendly.

Opened June 1st this year, Barnutopia Luxury Yurts quickly established itself as one of the ten best rural retreats in the Welsh border counties, according to Welsh Border Life magazine, July 2015. It is the only glamping site that made the list. Its three luxury yurts, Bronwyn, Carianne and Nanny Iris, are fully furnished with real beds, warm duvets, power, lighting, heating and free WiFi. Each yurt can accommodate 4 or 6 guests. Guest facilities include a well-equipped camp kitchen, converted stable lounge with leather sofas, television and DVD player, a breakfast room with corner dining nook and a bathroom with power shower. With stunning views, friendly hosts and farm animals, Barnutopia is the perfect destination for a short break.

We want to open our yurts to Americans in Britain, or anyone who would like to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey dinner.

Following a very successful first season with 5-star reviews on TripAdvisorFacebookPitchup and Airbnb, Katrina and Steve Boydon, owners of Barnutopia, decided to stay open into the autumn and all year round. In addition to Thanksgiving, there are specials for half-term, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year 2016. Katrina Boydon, co-owner of Barnutopia, said,

"Thanksgiving is the holiday we miss the most since returning to the UK a year ago. We celebrated the holiday with American friends every year for ten years in Reno, Nevada. We think is is lovely idea to  create a traditional American Thanksgiving celebration for American expats in Britain."
