Some of the wines say "LongSword," while others are labeled "Fly High Vineyard", because these wines are a blend of two enterprises: Matthew Sorensen's LongSword Vineyard and Sandra King's nearby Fly High Vineyard. They share a winemaker and a tasting room in Ruch, Oregon.

Winemaker Matthew Sorensen utilizes organic farming practices, and has produced nine different wine varietals, a majority of which have won multiple awards. All of his white wines are aged in stainless steel rather than oak. Matthew grows his grapes and makes his wines with the belief that wine should be fruit-forward; the wine should taste and hold aromas characteristic to the fruit it was made from.

About Flyhigh Vineyard/LongSword Vineyard
Longsword Vineyard/Fly High Vineyard formed a beneficial partnership to create award winning wine. While the grapes are kept separately, the vineyards now share a common logo. LongSword, a translation of Largaespada, and Fly High, honoring David King's flying days, are merged in the FHLV label, featuring the outline of pilot's wings with a biplane silhouette flying above an unsheathed sword. www[dot]fhlvllc[dot]com
