SARASOTA, FL  — A group of 30 women ranging in age from 20’s to 70’s gathered on Saturday as SMHF & Circuelle Foundation hosted an inaugural educational breakfast at Sophie’s @Saks Fifth Avenue to bring awareness on recent trends in oncology specific to Women’s Cancers. The breakfast showcased local but world renowned talent Dr. James Fiorica who said of the event “It’s a perfect way to educate/inform women about breast cancer, its impact on them and their families, the significance of early detection, and the available treatment modalities in our community. This type of forum would not be readily available without the support of the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation. Together, we will make advances to further reduce women's cancers.”

The breakfast entitled “Healthy Breast Rituals: Technology, Trends & Talk” was another way that the Healthcare Foundation helped to ensure that Key to the Cure continues to wrap its arms around the community well after the Kick-off  Event ends. The hope is that this will become an annual event where we bring the mission back to us all and create opportunity to educate & empower and in many cases to up the chances of early detection. "I am so appreciative of the mutually supportive relationship Circuelle Foundation shares with SMHF.  This type of forum was the perfect example of that; two organizations, coordinating efforts to present a unified strong message about breast awareness and breast cancer.  Any foundation is only as good as its outreach, and this type of engaging partnership is impactful and therefore truly leaves an indelible mark in our community."  Melissa Kirkpatrick, Founder Circuelle Foundation. CEO of the Healthcare Foundation Alex Quarles said, “Having the opportunity to provide this community with the latest and greatest information on early detection empowers us all. It is our sincere pleasure to be able to offer this to the greater Sarasota Community. We are forever grateful for their generosity in support of our five focus areas: Research, education, facilities, technology all leading to excellence in patient care.
