"We have taken our first step toward national expansion by recruiting a board with a footprint from coast to coast, from California to North Carolina," said Green. "These financial professionals will empower the Institute to build on its early successes and begin connecting with small business owners and entrepreneurs nationwide."

He continued, "This group of experienced finance practitioners, who are passionate about SBFI's mission and the audience of business owners and entrepreneurs we serve, are emblematic of the change we are working to bring to entrepreneurship. As a socially-responsible business, we will empower small businesses to become more successful while creating better, more successful and strategic clients for the financial industry."

The organization has recently launched a 2-day workshop called [url: http://www.sbfi.org/financial-boot-camp/]FINANCIAL B%T CAMP[/url] that teaches small business owners how to "connect the dots between their accountant and banker." Additionally they announced the date for the 2012 "Stepping Up To Business" Conference will be February 29 at the Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta.
