SEC Completes Critical Electrical Engineering Project at Imjin Barracks, Gloucester
Online, February 1, 2012 (Newswire.com) - SEC are proud to finish another job for the MOD - SEC Ltd has recently completed a critical electrical power shutdown of HP Data Centre at Imjin Barracks, Gloucester, managed by our Electrical Contracts Manager Dave Shepherd. The emergency works were required to carry out modifications to the electrical system in order to maintain the MOD licence for their classified and restricted data traffic.
The scheduling and completion of the works was of paramount importance given that this data centre was the primary hub for all personal communications traffic to the British Army in Afghanistan via the manned 24 hour call centre connected to the data centre. SEC are pleased to confirm that the scheduled shutdown and works went with hitch and resulted in the data centre being brought back online and functioning within the 48 hour window of opportunity and to the accolade of both the client and the sites MOD representatives.
We are at present completing a design and build project rated at over £200,000 for Aspire Defence. The project consists of the replacement of the plant room mechanical services. It involves the design and installation of new boilers and hot water services, including a BMS panel control system. It has involved the removal of an aging system and associated pipe works within the plant room. SEC provided these services together with all the associated building works.
SEC have installed all new pipe work in the plant room and have designed a system that incorporates all the client requirements for future maintenance. The project has been designed by Peter Roast our senior mechanical engineer and the installation is being managed by Ben Card.
