Seattle School Undermines Family by Sending 15 year Old for Abortion

Pat Montgomery, parent advocate, is outraged by Seattle School actions and calls for parents to stand up against this attack on the family unit.

Montgomery advices parents to voice their anger and concern about the actions of a Seattle school. Performing a pregnancy test on a 15 year old is one thing, according to Montgomery, but sending that child in a cab for an abortion and then telling her it would be free if she did not tell her parents is a whole different category of misbehavior by the school.

"It is hard enough to parent a teenager, but when school officials actively push a wedge between parents and kids, it can be darn near impossible," says Montgomery http://www.parentsrulewithpat.com. She believes schools should be a partner with parents in raising children who are our future leaders rather than an antagonist.

There are some actions parents should take immediately, Montgomery admonishes:
*Find out if your state is one of the 15 that permits this.
*Talk to your kids and then talk to them some more. Let them know that you are their advocate, even if you are disappointed in certain actions. There is nothing you all cannot face and resolve together.
*Contact your legislators and voice your opinion of this disturbing disruption in family.
*Contact your schools and see what their policies are.

Schools have no way of knowing what significant medical history, emotional baggage, and ethical considerations are at the root of each family. And they have no place encouraging a child to be dishonest with parents who love them, according to Montgomery. Her advice to parents is to get involved and stay involved.
