Scott Cook Joins Kolesar & Leatham

Law firm expands complex civil litigation, professional liability and insurance defense capabilities

LAS VEGAS - Kolesar & Leatham, one of Nevada's largest independent law firms, announces that Scott Cook has joined the firm as a shareholder focusing on civil litigation. Cook's expertise expands the depth of the law firm's capabilities in complex civil litigation, catastrophic injury and the representation of medical professionals and institutions.

Mr. Cook brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm. He is admitted and actively practicing in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska and New Mexico.

In addition to his expertise in complex civil litigation, Cook is well versed in several areas of law, including medical defense; tort and product liability; environmental exposure; explosion and fire; Indian law; insurance law and hospitality law, including lodging and food related matters.

During the course of his career, Cook served as a Managing Partner for a national law firm and directed a seven-state litigation region for a major insurance carrier.

In addition to his legal experience, Cook is active in the legal and medical communities, serving as a lecturer, convention panelist and an author of numerous articles and publications. He also is a well-known instructor of continuing legal and medical education classes.

Cook also serves on the Board of Directors of Project REAL (Real Education About the Law), a non-profit organization teaching K-12th grade Nevada students the importance of the law.

Cook has earned an AV Preeminent lawyer rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He also received commendation from the Colorado Defense Lawyer's Association, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the Self-Insurance Institute of America and the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.
