Savvy Travelers Take Advantage Of Low Season To Save Money And Get The Best Deals

Going against the norm when holidaying can be the smarter option for many Australians who are beginning to recognise that booking during off-peak times will stretch their dollar further.

A leading accommodation identity on the Sunshine Coast says he has noticed a definite trend towards low season bookings as the times provide better deals, less crowded beaches and more personalised attention.

Stay in Noosa General Manager Dave Langdon says everybody likes a bargain, but most customers are only willing to go so far when it comes to compromising on quality, especially when it comes to accommodation.

"Travelling off-peak allows people to get the best price for the quality accommodation providers that are highly sought after during peak holiday times," Mr Langdon says.

"These are smart travelers who know by moving their holiday times just a few weeks they can get much better value.

"By doing this they don't have to compromise on quality or location, in fact they can even end up staying somewhere that may normally be out of their price range."

Mr Langdon says a little bit of research can make all the difference when looking for a memorable, but affordable break.

"Noosa for example, is quiet between February and June, excluding school holidays and the Easter long weekend, and is also quiet in November and early December," Mr Langdon says.

"We have rooms that go for $425 per night in high-season that come down to $165 per night in low-season so savvy visitors can save up to 60 per cent on their accommodation.

"People opting to visit in these times are also smart, because the beaches are also less crowded yet the weather is still great for water activities.

"Having more of the beach to yourself can truly enhance the holiday experience."

Mr Langdon says a low season get away also has its perks when dining out, or enjoying other activities during your break.

"Restaurants are easier to get into, and you can receive more personalised attention when being waited on, some may even offer off-peak specials to attract more customers," Mr Langdon says.

"It also allows you to enjoy rounds of golf, kayaking adventures and the fun parks with less tourists around heading to the same sights and attractions."
