Savory Spice Shop to Open in Bend, Oregon's Old Mill District

Local couple plans to open first Oregon-based location for the chain, which offers fresh-ground, special blends of spices, herbs and gift sets.

Savory Spice Shop announces plans to open a new location in Bend, Oregon. Owner/operators and Bend residents Matthew and Betsy Perry are bringing their passion for food and spices to the Old Mill District with a shop that specializes in more than 400 fresh ground herbs and spices, 140 hand-blended seasonings, organic selections and gift sets.

Created in Colorado in 2004, Savory Spice Shop has a loyal customer base in the Denver Metro area. The company began franchising the concept in 2009 and since has shared this cook's paradise with multiple cities across the country. Bend residents Matt and Betsy Perry are the first to introduce Savory Spice Shop to Oregon. As franchise owners of the Central Oregon territory, they look forward to serving all the local communities from their Old Mill District store.

"We are thrilled to become part of the Old Mill District business community, while pursuing one of our personal passions," said the Perry's, who have lived in Bend since 2005. "Having the opportunity to bring the Savory Spice concept to Oregon is amazing and we are looking forward to working with and meeting more fellow foodies with this venture."

Savory Spice Shop offers custom fresh ground herbs, spices and seasonings. The product is ground and blended to order weekly to ensure superior freshness. Customers are encouraged to sample products and have packaged only the amounts that they need, starting at as little as a half ounce.
