Safeguard Self Storage Completes the Purchase of Land for a New Facility on 5026 North Sheridan Road in the "Uptown" Area of Chicago, Illinois
Safeguard Self Storage is expanding in the Uptown area of Chicago, Illinois. Safeguard recently purchased land for a new facility location. The facility will have 770 storage units in varying sizes and is Safeguard's 12th store in the Chicago area.
Online, June 3, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Safeguard Self Storage has announced the purchase, on May 28, 2014, of a land parcel to build a self-storage facility in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. The store, located at 5026 North Sheridan Road, will be the 69th store for the company nationally when completed and the 12th store in the Chicago area. Another store in the West Rogers Park neighborhood, will be the company's 11th store in Chicago and is presently under construction.

The 52,000 square-foot Uptown facility will provide 770 storage units in various sizes. Amenities at this location will include heated and air conditioned storage area, drive-up loading area, computer-controlled building access and digital/video recording of the property. The facade of the store has been modified and upgraded to blend into the surrounding neighborhood - see the before rendering (on the left above) and the after rendering (on the right above) of the façade.
