Rodney Lough Jr.'s Stand Here, Wilderness Collections Volume III Book Wins Four Premier Print Awards
Online, August 5, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr.'s first two books in his Wilderness Collections Series were both winners of a Benny, the highest prize at the Premier Print Awards. Now Stand Here, the third book in the series, has gone beyond either of them, winning not just a coveted Benny, but also taking home three of the awards' second highest honor, Certificates of Merit. For one book to win this many awards is almost unheard of.
The Benny Award won by Stand Here was for Best in Category in Special Innovations - Printing. Two of the Certificates of Merit were for Stochastic Printing, and one for Art Books (4 or more colors). These are all highly competitive categories, and Rodney is very proud of the awards.
Stand Here features over 80 beautiful Wilderness Landscape Photos by Rodney Lough Jr. Many of the spectacular images come from our Nation's majestic National Parks, including Yosemite, Zion, Glacier and many others, but they also range further afield, from the jungle canyons of Panama to the towering mountains of Canada. Each photo comes with special stories and trip anecdotes, as well as detailed field notes on aperture, shutter speed and more.
The Premier Print Awards, also known as the Bennies, have been presented by the Printing Industries of America for over 60 years. The Premier Print Award Competition "recognizes the highest quality printed pieces in various categories from around the world. Each year, only the most worthy pieces receive Awards of Recognition, Certificates of Merit, and the highest honor - the Benny Statute. The Benny has become a universally recognized symbol for excellence in the printing industry."
Rodney Lough Jr. owns the largest single artist gallery in the world and his catalogue of spectacular photos has garnered him, among many other awards and accolades, honors from the US Senate and the United Nations. Renowned for the vibrant colors and vivid textures of his wilderness photography, Rodney is a purist who captures what nature creates, using no color filters or deceptive darkroom techniques. He seeks to recreate what he saw, nothing more, so he can share it with the world. He is also sharing his knowledge of the most beautiful places on the planet with Stand Here, his new travel, photography and hiking guide.
