Roberta's Pizza Brings Restaurant Classics & New Favorites to Austin for Four-Day Pop-Up Series

BROOKLYN, NY, January 5, 2016 (Newswire.com) - For four days in January, Roberta’s Pizza will transport Austinites to Brooklyn for a special pop-up featuring a menu of Roberta’s famous neapolitan pies at East Austin Pizzeria, Bufalina Pizza. 

Starting on Monday, Jan. 25th 2016, Pizza Czar, Anthony Falco, and Director of Mobile Pizza Operations, Pete Litschi, will serve up some of Roberta’s classic pizzas, including the Bee Sting, the Speckenwolf, the Cheesus Christ, the Millennium Falco, and a special Texas-style pie. Falco, an Austin native, and Litschi, an Austin transplant who still maintains a residence, have worked at Roberta’s since 2008 and 2010, respectively. 

Fresh off a number of highly successful pop-ups in 2015, Roberta’s brought their mobile pizza operations everywhere from Sao Paolo’s famed Bráz Pizzaria, to a 10-day kitchen takeover at Brooklyn tasting room, Humboldt & Jackson, which saw pies sell-out in one hour on opening night. 

Roberta’s Pizza was established in the heart of Bushwick, Brooklyn in January 2008, and has since become a neighborhood institution, a culinary destination, and an incubator for progressive entrepreneurship. It is now home to a rooftop greenhouse, an artisanal bread bakery, and its first Manhattan brick & mortar operation inside the UrbanSpace Vanderbilt Market.

The Roberta’s / Bufalina Pop-Up Series will run daily from 11:30am to 11:30pm through Thursday, Jan. 28th, 2016 and is sponsored by Bel Gioioso and La Quercia.
