Riverpoint Management Provides Great Travel Opportunities

The associates at Riverpoint Management enjoy a broad array of travel incentives throughout the year. The firm's director of operations shared advice on improving the quality of business trips.

“Here at Riverpoint Management, we are committed to giving our people every opportunity to develop their skills and expand their horizons,” stated Kelly, the firm’s director of operations. “That includes traveling for leisure, which a select group of our associates did recently. They traveled to the Bahamas for a relaxation retreat, where they had the opportunity to network with other top industry performers. It was a memorable excursion.”

The trip to the Bahamas was a special occasion, but the firm’s team members travel for business frequently throughout the year. Kelly explained, “Our associates are always working to improve themselves. Attending conferences, seminars, and networking events give them unmatched opportunities to do so. Riverpoint Management and each of the brands we represent benefit greatly from our team members’ developmental outings.”

Riverpoint Management’s Director Offers Advice for Improving Business Trips

Even for seasoned business travelers, Kelly and the Riverpoint Management executive team believe trips can always be a bit smoother. The director shares some basic tips with her team members before every travel event.

The first thing the director encourages her associates to do is use a travel checklist. “If you want to avoid forgetting things or boost your performance on the road, you should keep a worksheet and cross things off as you prepare to leave,” she added. “Your list might be extensive or relatively brief, but I think it’s important to get the things you need to do or pack in writing so you don’t forget anything.”

Kelly also recommends packing a healthy snack or energy bar in a carry-on bag, since unexpected delays and weather issues can make it difficult to find anything to eat. “I’ve heard of airport vendors running out of food during the worst delays,” the director noted. “I remind my associates to be prepared for long waits when traveling, since hunger can get the best of you if you don’t have a mealtime backup plan.”

Helpful reminders also come in handy during travel. Kelly encourages her people to use the notes function on their smartphones any time they park in a numbered space or check into a hotel room. “It might seem like overkill to make notations such as these,” she remarked. “However, I’ve seen many instances in which bright professionals get frustrated because they can’t remember these small but vital pieces of information.”
