Renewable Energy Industry Adopts Firmex for EPC

Fast Growing Renewable Energy industry is using Firmex, a leading virtual data room provider, for EPC Bids.

Wind, solar and biodiesel energy developers are increasingly using Firmex virtual data room technology to share confidential engineering, procurement and construction documents.

Most renewable energy analysts predict the clean-tech sector will grow in worldwide revenue from $116 billion to $325 billion over the next decade, making it the largest single industrial sector in the world. Globally, clean energy investments have increased 230 percent since 2005, according to research conducted by the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Since renewable energy developers are busy operating in multiple locations and collaborating with 3rd parties to build their projects, Firmex's web-based document sharing facility streamlines much of the communication between parties."We have seen an influx of clean energy companies approach us and license Firmex's unlimited use virtual data rooms technology. They need our software not just for storing information in a single room, but for sharing confidential documents for multiple purposes," says Joel Lessem, Firmex CEO.

Top on the list for renewable energy developers are engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bids. Developers outsource site development to various vendors and use Firmex to control access to confidential documents during the bidding process. Additionally, Firmex is useful for finance transactions, the divestment and acquisition for various sites and even trading renewable energy credits (RECs).

Unlike other virtual data rooms, Firmex offers a private label website and segmented databases - in which developers can set up as many secure document rooms as they require for a monthly subscription fee. "Renewable energy firms have an ongoing requirement to share large volumes of documents across multiple locations and with third parties," says Aaron Booth, VP Sales at Firmex. Firmex has had demand around the world, including North America, Europe and China where renewable energy investment is greatest.
