Reformation, the Musical, to Open
Historical musical pop opera about religion, politics and war.
AUSTIN, Texas, October 16, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Reformation, The Musical, by Gary Sironen, is a joint theatrical initiative led by Triumphant Love Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas, with other Texas churches to commemorate the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation. The play is a historical musical pop opera with a cast of 35 and a pit orchestra that focuses on Martin Luther’s cataclysmic attempt to reform the Roman Catholic Church. The musical is directed by René Kendall with musical direction by Jolene Webster and Carol Holck.
Performances are scheduled Oct. 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 22 at 3:00 p.m. All performances will be held at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church, 9508 Great Hills Trail, Austin, Texas 78759.
For those interested in learning more about the Reformation, Pastor Norb Firnhaber will present "A Brief Historical/Theological Focus on the Reformation" at 6:45 p.m. before the Friday and Saturday performances.
