Rajasthan Tourism Richer by Leaps and Bounds

Roads play an essential part in boosting tourism. Rajasthan along with Gujarat has been bestowed with huge sum of money that will make its National Highway smoother than ever.

Unfolding one of the mega plans, the government has approved a plan to widen the National Highway by investing Rs. 6013 crore for the purpose. The highway stretches in Rajasthan and Gujarat and the current decision has been taken by Road Transport and Highways Ministry's flagship road building programme in the name of NHDP.

According to one official, "The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved the implementation of the project for development of six laning of Kishangarh-Udaipur-Ahmedabad section in Rajasthan and Gujarat."

The total money stands at Rs. 6,013.70 crore out of which Rs 626.40 crore will be spent on the purpose of land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement and preconstruction. The plan involving the widening is set to follow a valid design, building mechanisms, financial assistance, coupled with operating and transfer of the current basis.

The project is bound to bring some major benefits as a result that will reduce the time and cost of travel for traffic plying between Kishangarh and Ahmedabad. It will also help in developing tourism activities and would boost economic activities in the State of Gujarat and Rajasthan.

In fact, one of the major hurdles that come in between the promotion of tourism is the lack of good road system.
