Radisson Blu Hotel PE supports Eastern Cape leukaemia benefit - The Red Ball - a sizzling jazzy initiative organised by the Igazi Foundation and Dr Neil Littleton.
As the Eastern Cape is considered by SA Haematologists to have the highest incidences of blood cancers in the country, this black tie occasion will treat all guests to an evening of opulence. Jazz music and entertainment will be provided by a 20-piece Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Graham Scott, and renowned Jazz musicians Gloria Bosman and Tim Moloi.
International performer, Gloria Bosman is well known for her flair of fusion, gospel and spiritual jazz renditions, and has had the honour of performing for local ex-presidents Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela. Tim Moloi is also one of South Africa's extraordinary talents with his smooth velvet and masterful range. Tim is an established and formidable singer with a talent that ranks amongst the all-time greats. Amongst his highlights, he has performed at the Africa Peace Awards, Oprah Winfrey Live Your Life event, the 2010 FIFA World Cup bid banquet and the Nederberg Wine Auction at the Fancourt Ball.
A Red Ball commissioned art piece and three limited edition copies by renowned award-winning visual artist, Jennifer Ord, will also be auctioned during the event. Jennifer Ords' artworks express philosophy-inspired ideas regarding ways of being in a world that is infinitely and intriguingly complex, paradoxical and often beyond the linear grasp of logic and dogma. Her imagery, media and techniques used vary: from semi-figurative to abstract subject matter; from painting and drawing with a mixture of traditional materials; to the assembling of found and fabricated three-dimensional forms.
Toinette Koupman, Algoa FM Marketing Manager adds, "In terms of our involvement the Red Ball gives Algoa FM an opportunity to support top South African artists in an exclusive evening of entertainment and at the same time raise funds and awareness for the Igazi Foundation who research why our region has the highest incidence of blood disorders."
Book your ticket at Computicket.
All proceeds of this black tie event will go towards developing better haematological services for the Eastern Cape and Port Elizabeth 1st Haematology/Stem Cell Unit.
