R.D. Olson Construction Begins Construction of Culina Restaurant

R.D. Olson Construction begun revamping the Garden restaurant of the famed Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The project will completed spring of 2010 and the restaurant will be renamed Culina.

IRVINE, Calif.-During the midst of completing a major renovation of the famed Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, R.D. Olson Construction has begun revamping the Gardens restaurant, which will be renamed Culina. Plans also include additions and expansions: building a large wine room; 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio; VIP lounge; and new entryway. The restaurant is located within the hotel at 300 S. Doheny Dr., Los Angeles.

The design concept is to marry the existing restaurant with new decor elements and modern amenities to stir up an old-world Italian flavor. The existing flooring and Wainscot paneling will provide the foundation from which R.D. Olson will work. The builder will incorporate new Australian dark walnut millwork and satin bronze metal paneling to add a dramatic flare to the new L-shaped bar and existing dining area. LED lighting artfully placed between and at the floor of the paneling will provide a subdued warm atmosphere throughout. The restaurant's main focal point will be an expansive wine room viewed through pronounced decorated glass that has Italian words and phases sandwiched between its layers.

Venetian-style plastered high ceilings will tie the Italian theme together making for a fresh, cozy old-world Mediterranean setting.

R.D. Olson will continue the renovation outdoors, by re-inventing the 2000-square-foot outdoor patio. The renovated patio will feature a massive fire pit with a theatrical fire fountain at its center.

The restaurant's entryway will be a treat in itself, when R.D. Olson builds the 30X15 foot wide aluminum-walled walkway topped by an etched multi color glass canopy.

Culina, which is owned by Burton Way Hotels, was designed by EDG Interior Architecture + Design of San Rafael. The architect is CSA Architects of Los Angeles. R.D. Olson will complete the 8,000 feet of renovated and new construction at a project cost of $2.19 million. The construction company expects to be completed with the project in the spring of 2010.
