QR PAL Helping UK Students Showcase Their Creative Talent
QR Code Scanner App "QR Pal" turns to creative students to help launch QR Pal for iPhone devices.
Online, November 21, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Cheshire, UK - To celebrate the launch "QR Pal" for the iPhone, the company has reached out to universities across the UK, challenging their students to create exciting viral videos encouraging people to download the QR Pal App.
The competition gives students the opportunity to be involved in the launch of this new and exciting iPhone app, giving the future talent of these industries a chance to shine, with the added benefit of a cash prize for the winning entry.
The team at QR Pal strongly believe in encouraging student creativity and talent, providing them with feedback and experience of working to a client brief and deadline.
"We wanted to give students an opportunity to get involved with a real product launch to give them industry experience. Students are required to create an amusing, creative, 30-90 second viral video promoting QR Pal and its features. The more creative the entry, the better, giving the students the chance to express their creative skills and ideas" said Amy Parkinson, PR and Marketing Executive at QR Pal.
Although QR Pal has been directly targeting students on creative and media related degree courses, students of all subjects are eligible to enter. The competition already has a number of confirmed universities across the North West of England taking part, including Salford University, Edge Hill University, Bolton University and Liverpool Hope University.
QR Pal has been designed to be the most useful and advanced QR Code scanner available on the market enabling users to Scan, Store and Share their codes. The App also features a Payment facility and includes "Safe Browsing", making it the first security focused QR Code App of its kind. The app officially launched for Android devices in August 2011 and since then has been used to scan over 15,000 QR Codes in 109 countries worldwide.
The competition closes on the end of January 2012, with the top 10 entries then uploaded on to the QR Pal website. QR Pal members, fans and contacts will then be invited to vote for their favourite video entry and the entry with the most votes will be selected as the winner.
The winning entry will be used across a multitude of platforms to promote "QR Pal", and provides an excellent opportunity for creative students looking for experience and exposure.
