QR Code Scanner App "QR Pal" Released for Android Phones

QR Pal is a new and exciting QR Code App which is more than just your typical QR Code scanner. With QR Pal users are able to Scan, Store and Share various types of bar codes and QR codes.

QR Pay Ltd today announced the launch of its QR Pal Mobile Phone Application for Android. QR Pal has been designed to be the most useful and advanced QR Code scanner available on the market enabling users to Scan, Store and Share their codes. The App also features a Payment facility and includes "Safe Browsing" making it the first security focused QR Code App of its kind.

"There are plenty of QR Code scanners available on the market today but we wanted to create more than just a scanner. With QR codes really beginning to explode onto the marketplace we wanted to make QR Pal useful for the end user and more importantly give them the ability to share their scans with their social media networks. We were also aware of security concerns and although QR Codes pose a very small threat we wanted to do what we can to protect the end user - hence us incorporating the Safe Browsing feature into the App," said Chris Cooke, CTO at QR Pay Ltd.

The App has the ability to scan both QR Codes and traditional Bar Codes and has a wide range of settings enabling the user to scan, save, auto save, open link, share, edit and more. QR Pal has a detailed list of categories and if you have the auto save function enabled it will automatically place the type of code in the relevant folder.

Users are able to instantly share their scans via MMS, Email, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. QR Pal has the option to auto share your scans by simply authorising the App with your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

QR Pal also includes a payment feature which enables users to make and receive payments via PayPal. To receive a payment the user simply enters the amount and a description (their PayPal email and currency are predefined in the settings). And the APP then generates a QR Code which when scanned takes the person who is making the payment to the PayPal payment page.

QR Pal also rewards its users with points for scanning and points for sharing and what do points make? Prizes!

"We are all too aware of Apps that get downloaded, used once and never used again. We want people to use QR Pal to scan codes and share them socially and that is why we want to reward users for doing this. We plan to run a variety of campaigns and promotions to help drive QR Code usage and increase awareness about QR Codes, and we believe with the help of social media we can really achieve this exposure," said Adam Leese, Head of Marketing, QR Pay Ltd.

QR Pal is available to download for FREE at Android Market, GetJar and many other good Android App stores. The iPhone version of the App is currently in development and is expected to be available by the end of the month.
