Purple for a Purpose: Supporting Alzheimer's & Brain-Awareness Month

Edison-based Dr. Leonard's® Healthcare Corp. Raises Awareness and Matches Employee Pledges

Dedicated to promoting wellness and giving back to its community, Dr. Leonard’s® Healthcare Corp. took the purple pledge in support of Alzheimer’s & Brain-Awareness Month.

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain-Awareness Month, a time to shine a purple light for the millions of individuals around the world and all the people in our community who are affected by Alzheimer’s. Raising awareness helps honor those struggling with the disease, and helps mobilize friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers to bring an end to this heartbreaking disease.

"We're extremely gratified to raise money for a cause as important as Alzheimer's. We take our role in the community seriously, and we will continue to actively work toward the health of our neighbors."

Joseph Albanese, President of Dr. Leonard's Healthcare Corp.

Purple for a Purpose Program

To increase awareness in its workplace, Dr. Leonard’s hosted a Purple for a Purpose event on June 19th. Employees were invited to dress down for the day and wear purple. The response was overwhelming; the office filled with purple attire of all kinds as employees proudly displayed their support.

Matching Donation Program

To make an even greater impact, Dr. Leonard’s pledged a financial contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association on behalf of each employee who participated in Purple for a Purpose. Alzheimer’s has devastating effects on not only the 47 million people worldwide who live with the disease, but also on their families and caregivers. Funding research to find a cure is of the highest importance.
