Project Resist Advocates for NYC Taxpayer Accountability and Government Transparency

Project Resist, a non-partisan not-for-profit organization co-founded by attorney Jimmy Wagner and former teacher Rachel Maniscalco, is calling on all New York City taxpayers to demand greater accountability from their government officials on the use of their tax dollars.

Project Resist's mission is to unify New York City taxpayers and ensure that government officials adhere to the laws and the New York State Constitution. Project Resist is dedicated to addressing perceived injustices and advocating for the rights of New York City taxpayers.

"New York City's government must be held accountable for its actions," says Rachel Maniscalco. "Our organization is committed to upholding the legal and constitutional rights of NYC residents, ensuring that government officials do not overstep their boundaries. We, as NYC taxpayers, have rights.”

On June 10, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., a significant hearing will take place in Queens County Supreme Court (8811 Sutphin Boulevard, Queens, NY 11435, Courtroom 63, Index No. 708514/2024). During this session, several key officials, including Mayor Adams and multiple commissioners, will be required to testify regarding their religious accommodation policies.

"Our focus is on protecting the rights and freedoms of all NYC tax-paying residents," says Jimmy Wagner. "We believe in the principle that the government exists to serve the people, and we are committed to ensuring that these principles are upheld."

Project Resist encourages all NYC taxpayers to support this cause and attend the hearing. This is a critical moment to remind government officials of their duties and responsibilities to their constituents.
