ProgressBook and Jefferson County ESC Partner to Offer Districts eLearning Course Content

Collaboration Supports Blended Learning Initiatives with Standard-Aligned Content for K-12

Software Answers, Inc., provider of ProgressBook, a K-12 student information (SIS) and learning management system (LMS) platform, announced today that it has partnered with Jefferson County Education Service Center (ESC) to connect ProgressBook VirtualClassroom customers to a full range of standards-aligned course content. Jefferson County ESC, provider of professional development, instructional and technology services to Ohio public schools, has been administering online K-12 curriculum since 2001.

VirtualClassroom is an LMS that's built within ProgressBook GradeBook and integrates seamlessly with other modules to streamline e-learning processes for teachers and students. It enables teachers to create and co-author content - such as tests/quizzes, homework assignments and discussion activities - and deliver it through their student's ProgressBook account.

ProgressBook CEO Paul Chaffee is excited with the added value this collaboration brings to VirtualClassroom users. "We understand that having access to quality online content is key to building a successful blended learning environment," Chaffee said. "This partnership enables districts to enhance one-to-one computing initiatives, expand course offerings, or supplement teacher-authored content with off-the-shelf curriculum that's continuously updated and standards aligned."

"When it comes to building digital content, lack of time and lack of resources are among the biggest challenges schools face," said Dr. George Ash, Jefferson County ESC's CEO. "VirtualClassroom partnered with our content provides access to education without limits. This is a cost-effective way for districts to gain resources, help their staff, and provide cutting-edge options to students."

Beginning in January, 150 full year and semester courses for students in grades K-12 will be available for purchase and access via Progressbook VirtualClassroom. For more details and pricing, contact Teresa Silvestri, tsilvestri(at)jcesc(dot)org.
