Powerful Red Laser Diodes from Opnext Offer High Temperature Operation in Tiny Package
Online, July 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Optoelectronics Company, a distributor of innovative optoelectronic components, is pleased to announce the release of two new, 638nm, high power and low operating current red laser diodes from Opnext, Inc. These red laser diodes have been developed for the miniature projector and show laser markets, which are experiencing rapid growth due to mobile applications.
Opnext's optimised manufacturing processes have enabled a significant upgrade to its range of red laser diodes. These two new diodes offer higher temperature operation, shorter wavelengths and higher power in a smaller package.
Opnext's latest red laser diode, the HL63603TG has a wavelength of 638nm and an output power of 120mW. It is available in a tiny 3.8mm package with single transverse mode and is ideal as the red light source of RGB laser pico projectors.
The HL63603TG red laser diode is also suitable for use in laser modules and optical measurement equipment and offers a high temperature operation at 60 degrees Centigrade and 120mW of optical output power in the 638nm wavelength band.
The HL63133DG red laser diode also offers high power and high temperature operation in a 5.6mm package, with 170mW optical output power at 40 degrees Centigrade in the 638nm wavelength band, and operates in the single transverse mode.
Both new diodes have been designed to consume less power, resulting in extended battery operation and greater energy efficiency.
As a selected authorised distributor, the Optoelectronics Company is pleased to offer Opnext laser technology. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Opnext offers a comprehensive line-up of laser diodes from 404nm through 852nm and output power ranges from 5mW to 500mW. These high quality, reliable devices feature high power, low operating current and high performance infrared.
All Opnext laser diodes are RoHS compliant.
