Portland Design Group Pokes Fun at the Trump Administration With the Trump Presidency Survival Kit

PORTLAND, OR, March 1, 2017 (Newswire.com) - ​Miranda Design of Portland Oregon has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce a Trump Presidency Survival Kit. The kit includes parody items paired with some of the more outrageous Trump quotes.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions.” The design group has taken that as their mantra and directive as they work to launch the project on Kickstarter on March 1st.

We've gotten a great deal of positive feedback on the prototypes and mock-ups — and many smiles from people of all ends of the political spectrum. This has prompted a lot of discussions among friends, family, colleagues — and even strangers — about satire and how it can shed a powerful light on questionable workings in the political arena, not that we are taking serious issues lightly — but we do believe that humor can help people address difficult subjects head-on, ignite positive changes, and open pathways to conversation.

The tagline of Trump Presidency Survival Kit is “Together we can mock him better.” The items range from a mini-flask to a hand-held, battery operated (think global warming) fan, to a band-aid kit that might replace one’s healthcare due to the recalled Affordable Care Act — all with real Trump quotes that work to parody Trump’s take on these hot issues.

The project has gained a following on Twitter and a pre-launch video that satirizes Trump with his own words has been making social-media rounds.

Some other highlights of the kit are a commemorative/memorial First Amendment and another called Trump-era healthcare — which includes a band-aid kit to stand-in for the soon to be repealed ACA.
