Celebrities Help raise Awareness for the Red Cross in the wake of Tornado Tragedies, while anticipating the MTV Movie Awards

Friday June 3, 2011 (Beverly Hills, CA) -- Celebrities are lending a hand to raise awareness and money for the Red Cross this coming Friday June 3rd & Saturday June 4th in Beverly Hills, after the tragic tornadoes in the US.

At Melanie Segal's "Prepare LA" Red Cross Trend Lounge in celebration of the MTV Movie Awards, celebrities will learn from the Red Cross (www.preparela.org) how they can prepare themselves for any disaster that may hit their own neighborhoods. Celebrities will, in-turn, spread the word to their fans. Some celebrity guests will participate in the filming of a Red Cross Prepare LA PSA (Public Service Announcement) and sign various items to be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross. As a thank you for their support, celebrities will walk away with gift bags worth thousands of dollars.

Melanie Segal's Platinum Publicity will also be donating several gift bags to be auctions off for the Red Cross.

The event is taking place on a rooftop of a luxurious hotel on the world famous Rodeo Drive, in Beverly Hills., with 360 degree views of the Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills. Event takes place from 12pm - 5pm on both days.

PREPARELA+ is the awareness campaign for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region to remind Los Angeles residents to get prepared. The campaign takes aim at multiple methods of preparedness by simply asking - Are You Ready?
