PlanetRisk, a pioneer in enterprise risk analytics, announced that it has been re-appraised at CMMI Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for Services and has advanced from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015.

“This ISO certification and CMMI appraisal are a tremendous achievement for our team and signal an important milestone in the advancement of our capabilities and services supporting federal customers across the spectrum of civilian, defense and intelligence segments,” said Paul McQuillan, president and CEO of PlanetRisk.

The CMMI appraisal was performed independently by ACE Guides, a CMMI Institute Partner.

CMMI is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that improve their performance. CMMI, a registered trademark of Carnegie Mellon University, is comprised of a collection of best practices designed to promote improved performance in any organization and is considered a global standard for efficiency. An appraisal at CMMI Maturity Level 3 indicates that an organization is performing at a “Defined” level, meaning standards, processes, procedures, tools, and methods are well-established, clearly defined, widely-understood and utilized, and demonstrate improvement over time.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to-. This standard is based on top quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that customers consistently receive good quality products and services.
