Philly Revival is the creative product of a partnership with video production company The Michael Group and is expected to inspire home designers and historians alike.
The Michael Group - Video Production Company

Chicago-based multimedia and video production company The Michael Group is at the helm of yet another television series that is set to serve up hours of entertainment to viewers tuned into the DIY Network Channel. From creating content for various platforms from the online space, live events, marketing and public relations to film, documentaries and television, The Michael Group has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the production world.

Having produced shows and specials for an array of major networks such as the Travel Channel, CNN, National Geographic and CBS Sports Network, means that The Michael Group is no one-hit-wonder. In fact, the company has been honored by the Telly Awards and received an Emmy for work in television - making them a leader in non-fiction programming.

“We, as a team at The Michael Group, pride ourselves as being content creators who tell real stories in the most authentic way possible. The non-fiction arena of film making and television production is the perfect fit for our belief. We love that we’ve emerged as a leader in non-fiction programming because it means we’re remaining true to ourselves. We create great television and Philly Revival is one of those great television shows that we believe will resonate with viewers because of its amazing content, told in an incredibly authentic way. We are so excited for everyone to see it,” said Michael Weber the executive producer and founder of The Michael Group.

With the addition of the Discovery Channel’s Philly Revival show, the list of amazing television series produced by The Michael Group keeps growing. Along with the prowess of this renowned company behind the scenes of the show, the face of the show is just as key to its success and no one could be better suited to play the Jill-of-all-trades role than the multi-talented Rachel Street.

Far from the world of opera, where Street once spent several years touring as an opera singer, the host of Philly Revival has since used her flair for the dramatic and creative from the opera house to homes across America. Street is also a successful designer, real estate agent and general contractor and is perfectly cast as the host of the show as she is able to effortlessly bring her vast knowledge of design and construction to viewers in a relatable and exciting way.

It, therefore, made sense for Street to seek out the best production company in the business to help make this television project a reality. Philly Revival’s first episode entitled “It’s Philippin’ Small” premiered on Jan. 26, 2019. It took viewers on a journey to a tiny row home in South Philly’s Whitman district, where Street and her team work renovation magic on the small space, from salvaging a 150-year-old door to extending a second floor for added space and design appeal.

The first episode - “It’s Philippin’ Small” - repeats on DIY Network on:
