Pet Rush Moving to New Location in Glendale

Grand opening event to be held on April 14, 2013

Pet Rush announced the relocation of its long-time establishment to 1040 W. Kenneth Road in Glendale, just one block over from its previous address. Pet Rush was recognized as Glendale's first rescue-only pet store by former mayor Ara Najarian in 2011.

"Our new groomery and pet boutique is unlike any other you will see in Glendale," said Rene Karapedian, founder and owner of Pet Rush. "We wanted to create an experience for pets and their owners through unique pet services such as doggie massages and doga-doggie yoga."

The Grand Opening event for the new location will be held on April 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature appearances by city officials, animal welfare organizations, and members of the community in addition to music and food.

Pet Rush will feature safe and humane grooming services for cats and dogs, which include cage-free blow drying. The new Pet Rush groomery and boutique will also feature animal conscience products like organic pet food, locally-made pet toys, and U.S.A-made accessories and merchandise.

Karapedian is no stranger to the growing popularity of animal welfare. In 2010, Karapedian actively involved himself with the Glendale City Council to successfully ban the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores. Most recently, Karapedian's efforts to stop animal cruelty helped the city of Burbank pass the same ordinance in January 2013.

"We've always believed in helping other small businesses and pet stores, and making sure that we offer safe and responsible services to our clients and their pets," said Karapedian. In 2011, Karapedian founded the Glendale Animal Welfare and Rescue, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization to help campaign against the inhumane treatment of animals. Karapedian helped convert several pet stores to the "humane model", thus making them all rescue-only establishments.

Pet Rush is supported by local and national animal welfare organizations such as the Best Friends Animal Society, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and the Humane Society of the United States.
